HANS Pro Ultra Lite Head Restraint
Why this made the Sone list? I’ve used HANS device for years. It’s required when running 4 point or 6 point safety harnesses. With a factory 3 point, one shoulder can move forward with your head during an impact. But with 4 point or 6 point harnesses, your shoulders are locked while your head still moves forward, which can cause catastrophic neck injuries or even death. Trust me, friends, you’ll want this.
If you have a 4-point harness with ASM, you might get by without it, but I wouldn’t take the chance.

HANS Pro Ultra Lite Head and Neck Restraint
The Ultimate Carbon Fiber HANS Device
The HANS Pro Ultra Lite with a 20º layback angle is both SFI 38.1 and FIA approved. Crafted from aerospace-grade carbon, the HANS Pro Ultra Lite is over 100 grams (3.5 oz.) lighter than its HANS Ultra counterpart. In addition to this weight savings, the HANS Pro Ultra Lite's smaller size helps with entry and exit from smaller, tighter race car cockpits.
